Winter Break-Rosie

Hey everyone! I have an awesome story to tell, and information on my class Christmas Party, AND on Winter Break!

-THE STORY-

OK, so, one Tuesday, my friend Olivia and her little sister came home with me. Why?

Because, Olivia was in my girl scout troup, and Sophie (olivia's sister) was in a different toup, and we were going to go caroling at the Botanical Gardens with other girl scouts in our troups, for a badge.

Instead, the ran came down, and it was CANCELED. So, we went to Red Robin (A resteraunt) and then took Olivia and Sophie home. After we dropped them off, me and my mom decided to go to Pet-Co (an animal store, with EVERYTHING you need for your animal/s) and get my dog (Sadie) and my cat (Libby) presents for Christmas, and more food.

Let me tell you, WHENEVER I go to a pet store like that, I ALLWAYS look at the pets, especialy the kittens, and cats!

So this time, while I went to see the cats, there was a little girl over there looking at THREE CAT IN ONE CAGE. She said "THEY LOVE ME!!!!" so, I decided to go to this different cat. She was black, and had long, silky fur.

She kept slowly rubbing against my fingers, and part of my hand. Whenever I pulled my hand out of the cage, she would stick he paw out at me, and try to reach as far as he little arm would go. It made me cry, hard. My mom got a little teary- eyed, too.

I stood up, and read her description. Her name was Rosie, and it said she was VERY SWEET, and that she is good with cats and dogs, but she needs a slow introduction to them.

I wanted her. She HAD to come home with me. I didn't want to leave her there in that small, closed- up, cage! But, I knew it wasn't going to happen.

While we were looking for dog and cat toys, I have to admit, I cried, I said "Let's get this catnip toy for Rosie." I didn't want to, but I think I might have made my mom feel a little bad. All of a sudden she stepped back, and said "Maddie, I think I am going to do something REALLY crazy... and get Rosie." at first I didn't believe her. Who was she and what did she do with my mother? Wait, this was my mom. She loved Rosie, too. I knew it. Same as me, she didn't want to leave Rosie in that cooped up cage.

Now was the time for me to decide:

Should we get her?

Should we not?

I thought about how my cat, LIBBY, and my dog, SADIE (whom I love) would react to a NEW CAT in the house.

I said "Yes, let's get her, THANK YOU SO MUCH MOM!" and hugged my mom.

I was SO happy. Rosie was going to be living with us! A TON of the employees where gathered around us, helping us out. Since we adopted Rosie, we got:

Free Cat Food

Free Dog Food

&

Free Cat Litter!

Next, I had to pick out a color for Rosie. I picked a neon green one. With: blue, orange, yellow, and white peace signs! Then we made her a gold heart-shaped tag, that read:

ROSIE

(then out phone number)

It looked REALLY good on her. They then put her in a box, with A TON of air holes.

Everyone there was so nice. And happy that Rosie was going to a good home.

Right when we got in the car, I opened the box, Rosie jumped out, and plopped right on my lap and purred.:) :( (happy sad)

She is with me now, and I love her. On the first night we got her, we kept her in my room. The next day, I had to go to school... so, I put Sadie and Libby outside, and let Rosie roam the house while I was gone. When I got back, Rosie was in my room. (Aw, she loves it there. She sleeps in it every night.) Once my mom got home with my brother, we introduced her to Sadie. Sadie loved her, she even licked Rosie.

Libby, on the otherhand is actually STILL getting used to Rosie. (Libby is a little bit jelous!)

But we love Rosie, her favorite toy is a toy that has a skiny colorful cloth and had a stick to dangle it from. Rosie LOVES it. She would play with it all day if she could.

MY CLASS'S WINTER PARTY-

At my class's Winter Party, we had hot dogs, fruit salad, chips, and soda! All of it was really good.

Then we played Christmas Bingo, and had a candy bar exchange. Just like a gift exchange, but with candy bars! I brought probably the biggest. It was twice as big as a king sized. It was called-JUMBO SIZED. It was Hershey's chocolate, too. My friend Olivia wanted it!

In the end, I ended up geting a Hershey (king sized!) bar. It was actually pretty big!

Then I traded with Matt for a Cookies n' Cream Hershey's KING SIZED candy bar!

It was sooo good! I kinda feel bad for Olivia. She ended up getting the exact OPPISITE of what she wanted, she got a: HEATH BAR

It was small, and she DIDN'T LIKE what it had in it.

THAT'S ALL FOR NOW

  1. Aww, Rosie sounds ADORABLE!

I think Tanmay brought the biggest one: a ginormous lollipop! Courtney got it, and it was about the size of her face. I was jealous. At least I got a nice, big Crunch candy bar! :)
