We moved further into the second day of tryouts. I was getting more comfortable. We had to play "Queen of the Court". Its a 3-on-3 game. They split us up into groups of three, and I had a pretty good team, then they split us in half: So half of us went to one court and the other half went to the other court. I wasn't sure about this because there was so many teams of three, and only two coaches to watch it all. My team kept winning. All of us were making great passes and sets and spikes. But, it seemed every time we did something good, the coaches were looking at the other court......it was frustrating.
Anyways, at the end of the day, the Varsity coach called out all the varsity players.... I wasn't one of them.... Kimi and Megan were. I was really happy for them... but I was so disappointed in myself, even though I've never played volleyball before in my life. So, this meant I had to meet up with my JV for practice the next day. There were so many great kids on my JV team, all of them were great friends, and really hilarious. On JV we got to choose our own teams.... mine was amazing!! But, in the middle of Friday practice, the varsity coach came in and talked to our JV coach. I was kind of confused when our JV coach, Coach Bazley's Daughter, (Varsity Coach is Her Mom, So They Are Both Coach Bazley's), called out my name, and said "Madison! Come here." I was afraid I was in trouble or doing a serve wrong or something... but that wasn't the case.
The Varsity Coach suddenly said "Madison, I was wondering if you'd still like to be on Varsity?"
Me: "What?!"
Coach: "Do you want to be on Varsity?? We need another player."
Me: "Yeah! Yeah sure!!" (I probably looked so dumb) :)
Coach: OK, with me to our practice.
Me: *SMILING* :D
*Walks in Big GYM*
Kimi: *makes hand signals* "ARE YOU ON VARSITY, TOO?!"
Me: "YES!!!"
KIMI: OH MY GOSH!!! YES!
Yeah...It was a good day :)
