Just 2 More Weeks!

Ok, I know I said I was going to write another list, but let's just say I loved DC/SC/ And Virginia so much.

As the title says, just two more weeks until I get to go to Sandpoint, Idaho. It's way up at the top of the panhandle, right on Lake Pend O'Reille.

FUN FACT: Lake Pend O'Reille is one of the deepest lakes in the world! (I think it's the 5th deepest.) Marines used to (not sure if they still do) do training for using submarines in the lake, because some of it's deepest points are thousands of feet deep...WOW.

Anyways, I always meet my family up in Sandpoint. We rent the same cabin every year. It's kind of like a small family reunion. (And, after Sandpoint, I get to go to the Washington Coast with Mom, Ryan, and the cousins!).

WHY I LOVE IT?: I get to see family. I get to relax. I also get to tube, and water ski...I love water skiing...so much. It's the only time of year that I get to, so I really take advantage of the time I get to.

We always have the best food up in Sandpoint. We've really made friends with the people who rent out the cabins, they are so nice.

I love sitting around the fire and just talking with the family. Plus, one of my favorite parts of the night time is whenever I look up, the sky is PACKED with stars. There are SO many, it's just beautiful! Boise doesn't seem that polluted, but you can absolutely tell the difference between the two night skies! We also have a tradition some nights to play "Kick the Can" or "Over the Can" (SAME THING. The only change is that if it's over the can, you have to jump over it, if it's kick the can, you obviously have to kick it.)

How to play? Why we play it?!
We play it because surrounding the backyard of our cabin are so many beautiful green bushes and trees. There are three levels to our backyard: The first one, with the patio, and just a yard with a picnic table, (we usually play baseball there), there is a path that leads down to the second level, the second level a little yard between two hedges, with a little bench, following the same path, from the second level it leads down to the third, which has a fire pit, chairs, and wood for the fire. From there it goes down to our own private dock.

Anyways, off to the side of the three levels, there is an area that is kind of forest-like. It has tall trees and bushes, with cute little paths leading throughout the "forest" area, and to the different levels. As you can tell, there are many hiding spots for kick the can. All kick the can is, is that someone is it, they count to a certain number, and try to find the others that are hiding in the bushes or in the yards. If they find someone, or think they hear someone, they have to say "Kick the Can on so and so". If they said the right name of the person, they have to try to kick the can before the other person pops out of their hiding place to kick it. If they kick it before them, the person that they found goes to "jail." The other players hiding have to try to kick the can secretly before the person who is "it" can get to it in order to let the player out of "jail"....and so on.

Kind of confusing, but I tried to explain as best as I could. You determine who is "it" in the next round once the player who is "it" gets everyone in jail.

Ok, well, I'll make a picture post just to show you how excited I am. :)
