It's really already been a week since I got here? Wow. The time has been flying by really fast! In these last 9 days, I've got to do and see so many things, and it has all been a blast!
DAY #1: Beauty and the Beast. (Wrote about that on the last post.)
DAY #2: Nat's game! It was so much fun to see a major league game. The stadium was huge, plus, to make the experience even more enjoyable, they had the best gelato there. Yum!
DAY #3: Stayed home, went to store, got ice cream. Ice cream was gone by the next day. :)
DAY #4: Saterday market in Leesburg! Aunt Nancy got her haircut by her regular hair-stylist, Kim... Kim's a funny lady. :) We picked the best blueberries in the world at a blueberry farm, after that. We're still deciding what to do make them into. Went to Oaklands Plantation after that...long story. :)
DAY #5: Air and Space Museum! It was really cool to see all of the real airplanes hanging from the sealing. They were huge!! There we saw two short films; "To Fly" and another one... :)
Walked to the National Botanical Garden Museum after that. It has the coolest plants ever, in there!
DAY #6: Museum of Natural History, Washington Monument, Lincoln Momorial, Veteran's Momorial, and the First Ladie's Dresses in the Museum of American History.
All of these were really amazing to see. The Museum of Natural History contains the Hope Diamond. One of the biggest diamonds in the world. It is a deep blue color.
DAY #7: King's Dominon!! It's an amusement park, and it was so much fun! My aunt went on a ride with me called the "Shockwave". You stand up on it, and it goes up-side-down, as well! She lost her voice because of screaming! My cousin and I went on almost every coaster there. His favorite was the "Dominator". I'd have to say, it went upside-down at least 6 times!! There was one that we got to sit in the front seat of. It goes from 0-72 mph. in just 4 seconds! It shoots you out of a "volcano." it was so much fun!! My cousin and I went on a ride that we never thought we'd like. We only wanted to do it because we thought we'd regret it if we didn't go. It's a big tall drop-tower. You go streight up, and streight down, at 272 feet, and 72 mph! Wow. We did it, and we LOVED it. So we went on it two more times. :)
DAY #8: Capitol Tour, and Georgetown Cupcake. My cousin, Frank works for a congressman for the nation's capitol building. We got to meet the congressman, Daniel Webster, and then we were given a private tour. We saw the main rooms of the capitol, including the one right below the big tall part of the capitol, I forgot what it was called. But you look all the way up, and there is beautiful artwork done on the ceiling. We got to go onto the Speaker's Balcony. Not very many people get to go on there, so we felt privalaged. We got to watched some debates, and then we ate lunch. Mmmm.
After our tour was over we said thank you, because they did a really great job. We drove over into old Georgetown. Georgetown is really cute with cute old buildings. There is a famous cupcake shop there called Georgetown Cupcake. They have a TV show on TLC called DC Cupcakes, so we thought we'd try it. Turns out... they are the best cupcakes we've ever had in our lives. :)
I've had a blast so far! Today we saw the Jefferson, Franklin Roosevelt, and Martin Luther King Jr. Momorials. They were all amazing! Tomorrow we get to see the White House! Woo!
