Candles lit everywhere, illuminating the whole living room and dining room areas. Everyone has a Christmas drink in hand, myself holding a cup of cranberry juice mixed with lemonade....my own concoction. Everyone is laughing, talking, smiling, and sitting around the living room, relaxed and enjoying every minute. We all wait patiently for all of the orderves and appetizers to make their way out of the oven, and onto the dining room table. I help set out festive red paper plates, napkins, and eating utensils. The food is set around the table. Since it's Christmas Eve, everyone agreed to have a little serve-yourself table with bite-sized orderves to get a little taste of everything; and I can tell you this right now-it was a good idea.
There was so much to choose from; veggies and dip, beef, shrimp, baked bri cheese (one of my top favorites), stuffed mushrooms, deviled eggs, and more, I just can't remember right now..
All the food that I had was tastey, and I'm very thankful for it.
My brother and I entertained my little cousin, Takota. That kid has energy, and I mean ALOT of energy. One second he's tackling my brother, the next he's flickering the lights on and off in my brother's room. Then he's grabbing my brother's old toy airplanes off his shelves and asking about them. Minutes later he's found chatting it up with some of the adults. What a kid! Adorable.
Anyways, this morning I woke up early; like I usually do on Christmas. I woke up my brother-which took some nagging-including me jumping on his bed. We met my mom downstairs, and started the tradition: first, check to see what's in the stockings, then hand out presents to each person and we take turns opening them.
I recieved a new basketball with my high school's colors on them; Black and Yellow. No, I haven't started high school yet. But I'll be in highschool next school year... CRAZY for me to think of, because when I think of highschool, I think of big kids... like, tough kids... 18 and 19 year-olds...and I'm going to be there, five years younger than them, and, I think there is a big difference of how those two age groups act. But, whatever, it'll be fun and a good experience. Back to Christmas:
I also recieved two pairs of pajamas, which, by the way, are so comfy and soft. I seriously love getting new pajamas. Not kidding. I also got some eyeshaddow, an iTunes giftcard, and some canvases and paint to paint on. I already painted all of them... I just stayed in my PJ's all day painting and watching Christmas movies. Pretty good day.
Thank you for all of the presents, mom and Grandma D.!!
In a few days I'll be at my dad's house, celebrating Christmas all over again. This, my friends, is not a bad thing, for I LOVE Christmas and could celebrate every aspect of it all year around. I'm excited.
One of the paintins I did; I know I'm not Picaso, Ok, but I'm proud of myself! :D
I don't know why I painted a tea set thing. It just came to me.The green and pinks match my room colors, too!
Downtown...somewhere. It looks blurry and the brush strokes or the sky aren't going to same way. I can fix that, though! I just like the over all feel, I guess!(:
Sadie had a good Christmas, too!
