I can litterally smell summer. The flowers blooming on the trees. The sign that
spring is here, and summer trailing close behind. I keep having flashbacks to previous summers. At Sandpoint, sitting by the campfire laughing, telling "scary" stories, or playing the "I'm going camping..." game. (But we don't camp there..we stay in cabins). Or naturally getting up early... at 7:30 sometimes 6:30 just because of my excitement to try to catch the best skiing water...the glassy-like water that is the best; the smoothest; in the morning time. Or going to Ocean Shores, last summer. Going down to the beach, with my cousin Sean chasing me with dead crab limbs that he picked up with sticks... yeah, I know. Gross. Or going to DC to visit my Aunt Nancy, and Uncle Jon with my cousin, Chris. Him always poking me around and tackling me, or smacking my face with pillows until my hair makes me look like I've never combed it in my life. Coming up with nicknames for Christopher to get him back for all those messy-hair moments. (it started as Christopher Robin-from Batman, that my Aunt Nancy came up with...but I thought she said Christopher Bobbin. Thus, he became Christopher Robbin-Bobbin). Or the rides in the car to South Carolina.
I can feel summer coming. I can picture it. I can picture how great it will be. To get out of school, and be worry-free of homework for a while. With the thought of going into highschool at the end makes it even more exciting. It's like starting a new chapter in my life.
Winter... I love you and your glittering snow, but right now Summer has seriously taken over my mind. I just can't wait!
I've been looking through pictures of summers. South Carolina and DC. Ocean Shores. Sandpoint. All great memories.
Some of my little cousins are going to Sandpoint. Patten is three....THREE. Last time I saw him he had just turned three. I didn't see him over last summer, and then I saw him on Thanksgiving and in March at the wedding. I can't wait to see him!
Oh, the memories. Only 6 or 7 more weeks of school... teachers are already assigning big end-of-the-year projects. These give me something to do... to focus on, while I await summer. Besides my favorite-Basketball!! (I love my team. We'll dominate this year. Go Knights!)
And Piano every monday! I'm bussy but it's good. I just hope what everyone is saying is true: Summer will be here before I know it.
I just don't want it to go by fast.
